The Aga and the cheesecake...

Aga owners please advise. I want to cook a baked cheesecake. Recipe says 160 degrees. I have a two oven Aga. Would you cook it at the bottom of the roasting oven with the cold plain shelf in, or risk the top of the simmering oven?

I love my Aga most of the time, but anything that needs cooking around Gas Mark 3-4 does my head in!

I'd put it on the shelf on the bottom of the roasting oven with the plain shelf over it.

Do you normally put the plain shelf just above (if the thing being cooked isn't going to rise)?

I would. Normally it's recommended on the second set of runners down, but I'd put it closer to be safe.

Well it went brown very quickly and cracked - I put it in the lower oven for 20 minutes or so to firm up and then left it in with the door open for a while. Didn't look great but tasted fine!
