Wil this veggie carbonara work ?
(12 Posts)I have at least one preferabally 2 meat free meals a week much to DP's disgust
Funds are very lockup board staples equally low
Would this work ?
Pasta When cooked put in a bowl of
Eggs - to create a silkiness
Cream
Garlic
Crushed black pepper
Serve
voila !!
Funds are very low as is cupboard staples that is meant to say
Yep. Why not add some peas too?
Yep, totally. Do you have cheese?
You could also add spring onion or cooked broccoli/asparagus or wilt some spinach at the end if you have it, but it'll be lovely as it is.
Yes but would be nicer with cheese or veg
Yes, but I'd add peas or mushrooms if you can, and then parmesan to grate over.
Sounds nice, but would deffo add mushroom if you can
I have peas AND cheese
Would both work or just one or the other
Yes it would be ok I suppose but it would be so much nicer if you could just stretch to a wafer thin bit of streaky bacon.
But seriously, add peas and cheese, or mushrooms and a little slug of truffle oil? OK not great for the budget, but a tiny bottle lasts ages and it's meat free.
Incidentally, one of the quickest, easiest, cheapest, most delicious things EVER is Nigella's spaghetti in Marmite. Strange but true.
Definitely both. All pasta needs cheese, bar fish/seafood recipes (and even some of them do)
Thanks all
And NO Bacon fellatio although I do expect the cries of " where's the meat !!"
