I only ever eat takeaway curry (so rarely have it) but I'm ill & hungry and have no money so need instant curry from a shop. Which supermarket has the best? And most veggie selection?

Thanks - DP suggested Asda but since he's never tried any from anywhere else, I ignored him. Will have a look in Waitrose/ M&S before heading to asda tomorrow Smile

We love sainsburys curries, not sure about their veggie range though. Unfortunatley do not get them very often anymore and they reall are no good for dc. (and we make our own)

Waitrose are the next by a country mile. Have tried them all and researched. Ready for a PHd write up now. Poons make them and they are the best next to restaurant standard.

Our favourite is Yeungs curry sauce. All you need is cooked chicken onions & peas really.

I do a roast chicken on Sun, This curry & rice on Mon, & Chicken soup with the carcass on Tues. Very economical, tasty as well, my Gran would be proud Smile

Morrisons Korma is fantastic, mild enough for the kids too!

I never think the Asda ones have much meat in them (although as a veggie that's not what you're looking forGrin)

Tesco do a nice ones in boxes - meal for two, various types. Not sure if any specifically veggie ones, only because I haven't looked though. They probably do.

Sainsburys much better than waitrose in my opinion, and usually a better selection for veggies ime.

I mostly have had Tesco ones, and am always disappointed because they are nothing like an Indian restaurant one.

same with Wetherspoons curries.

Do you have a sweet centre near by? The ones by me do curries and sundries to take home and heat up.

Waitrose. 2x mains, two sides ( usually have naans and aloo gobi or dahl ,and rice . A tenner, cheaper than the sweet centre.Enough for a family.

YY to sweet centre. Or our corner shop does an amazing microwave curry, bizarrely.

I like Co-op ones too. Not sure of veggie-ness of co-op or corner shop curries.

Waitrosse or Asda (my Indian friends buy theirs from Asda) M and S is dire for curry.

Waitrose hands down. Amazing madras and Jalfrezi. Only one that wasnt too great was their Dansak. But 100% the best curry from a supermarket. I am pregnant and sometimes eat 2!

Our sweet centre of which we have many ave not upped thier prices just reduced the amout of goodies in some of their curries. Saag paneer, now just a bit of chesse and more spinach. The vegetarian ones however have upped their prices and remained generous with thier ingredients.
