I'm organising a Christmas meal for a large group and one of those attending is allergic to gluten, dairy, eggs AND soya.

The main course is sorted but what can I give him for a pudding? Bar a clementine!

All ideas gratefully received.

Sorbet ? Rice pudding made with coconut milk or almond milk? vegan choc cake made with non soy stuff

Hadn't thought about sorbet - good idea. Vegan choc cake has the gluten problem...

Sorry, should have said you could easily make vegan choc cake with Doves Farm gf flour or with ground almonds.

Theres a non soy, non dairy 'ice cream' you can get in Sainsburys - can't remember the name, but it was the one from Dragons Den

Tricky- vegan, gluten free puddings. What about
a chocolate and prune mousse or baked apples Either would probably work nicely as a xmas dessert.

Christmas pudding of course!

Would champagne (or other) jelly work? Not sure so apologies if it's not suitable.

Vegan choc cake using Dove's Farm gf flour? And Dove's Farm baking powder if you need baking powder (that's also gluten free). When making gf cakes, you usually need to use a little bit more liquid than usual.

You could also buy a gf cake mix. I use lots and they have been big successes (with 'normal' eaters as well as my coeliacs) - they usually have dairy-free suggestions on the side for what to use instead of milk etc.

Good ones are - Orgran's vanilla cake mix, any of the mixes by Glebe Farm, Hale & hearty's chocolate brownies. They are all delicious and foolproof.

p.s. forgot to say - aren't you nice. I hope my sons get to eat with lovely hostesses like you that go the extra mile!

Thanks so much for all your suggestions - will investigate. smile

Mm - lucky man; I'm intolerant to all the above and haven't yet been made a pudding when out, other than fruit.

The ice cream substitute is called Kirsty's - used to be Worthenshaw's.

daughter's friend has the above allergies plus nuts and some fruits, tho not soya, and I used to make her crumbles with the fruits she could eat, with oaty topping instead of normal (oats, Pure, sugar, mix) and made Birds custard with other than dairy milk. also rice pudding with coconut based milk or tinned coconut milk and I've also made it quickly on hob with dessicated coconut, flaked rice, non dairy milk and sugar. she loves it.
