Mountain Dew Energy

My son doesn't drink the likes of Red Bull, Monster etc and has been an avid opposer of them, but he has now come home saying he likes Mountain Dew Energy. I asked him if it was similar (because of the energy description) but he said he thought not - it was a fruity drink.

Does anyone know anymore about it?

Crap like this is banned in most of europe. I'm pretty sure there's an age restriction in the UK, 16?

Thank you. That answers that! Hopefully once I let him know, he'll be as against it as the other stuff and not even buy it again. I'm sure we can think of a much better fruity drink for him.

Won't be happy with the shop if there is a age restriction.

There isnt an age restriction and there is no ban in europe. France tried to ban Red Bull because of tuarine a but couldn't prove there actually was a health risk, so no longer ban it.

Thank goodness for sensible kids! I told him and he disagreed but we agreed to go to the shop and look at the ingrediants - we did and he was astonished! Happy to drink something different now.

Thanks for your help. I thought I might have been over reacting but just had a gut feel! When I actually saw the neon/flourescent packaging in the shop - then I knew!

You can get Mountain Dew which is not the energy type from a few places - I get it from Chinese supermarket. It's like a fruity 7Up.
My DC love this as a treat but I made the mistake of getting the energy one from Asda and am now drinking it myself.

I have used this website before, it's interesting to see how much caffeine is in a pepsi and other drinks compared to energy drinks! Am now going to check I have the caffeine free Mountain Dew.

Mountain Dew is lovely and basically just lemonade with caffeine or there's a raspberry one in Asda as well. Pretty hard to find the non-energy one over here though unless you go to a foreign store.

It might be lovely but is it recommended drinking for a 14 year old?

You could try and fine the non caffeine one but it might be a bit tricky... If he really likes it you could order it off the internet.
