Posted this in recipes thinking it was food - sorry!

Friends of mine and dp have just had their first baby. We will probably pop around sometime next week to say a quick hello. I'd like to make a couple of meals to take with us (particularly as it was a difficult birth and i know that she isn't too well at the moment), so I'm looking for suggestions. I'm a decent cook but am quite short of time this week so need something that is quick (or at least that involves minimal prep time). All suggestions gratefully received!

Spaghetti Bol or chilli or shepherds pie?

Waitforit Sat 13-Oct-12 17:14:02

Thinking of shepherds/fish pie, but just wondered if anyone had any other interesting ideas. Want something that can go straight from fridge/freezer to the oven and requires no other prep for them.

I got a lovely pot of beef stew, bung in bowl, microwave, eat.

Lasagne, curry?

I would like things that can be reheated very quickly and/or easily, such as:

Home made curries, with some naan bread to go with it

Lots of chicken dishes - always make me feel better somehow.

Great if you can portion it up. Lots of eating in shifts with a newborn.

How about a crumble or something sweet like that. Carton of custard too!!

Would love you if you were mine smile

At work we have a huge number of individual foil takeaway cartons that are never used, so I may liberate a few!

Crumble is a great idea as well, I do mean apple one so will do that along with a stew/casserole type thing.

Thanks for the ideas!

Crumble is a fan idea. It's as delicious cold as not IMHO.
