After school snack ideas

DS has just started reception and has a small meal/snack after school. He has so far had things like fish fingers, pie with cheese, and usually some fruit. He then has his main meal at 6 so he needs to be hungry again for that.

Any suggestions of nutritious things I can give him? He's quite skinny and active so I'd like to get more calories in him too.

I bake a cake each week or malt loaf. Houmous and veg, bread and cheese.

Cheesy Oatcakes are also lovely and very easy to make yourself. Served with a small glass of milk.

Peanut butter on rice cakes or toast.
Toasted teacake and butter.
celery with cream cheese in the 'channel'.
Sunflower seeds and almonds.

How about scones? You can also freeze them.

My DDs love celery with peanut butter in the channel and raisins stuck in top. mini scotch eggs, wraps with cream cheese and ham sliced into snails, crumpets with cheese or jam.

Great ideas thanks. Think I will try making scotch eggs and carrot sticks first
