Tiny lamb joint how long should I cook it for?

I'll be honest I rarely cook lamb unless it's in a curry. Dp bought a small lamb joint just for him and I as dcs are with their dad on a Sunday. I had a look at how long it'll need and it seems hardly any time at all?

I thought I'd better check on here before I go for it. Dp's i bed (nightshift worker) or else I'd leave him to it.

According to here it should be

30mins at 220°/gas mark 7, then 160°/gas mark 3 for 20min/kg (9min/lb) rare, 30min/kg (14min/lb) medium.

What does it weigh?

It's around 400g so tiny. It'll shrink down to nothing, good job I don't like a lot of meat Grin thanks for that.

Thats just under a pound. I wouldn't cook it for longer than 38-40 minutes then. Small joints are much more fiddly aren't they?

I prefer to buy a bigger one and have some left over but it's his new thing, he bought a tiny beef joint last week Hmm

Thanks again.

Make sure you take your usual portion, give the kids their usual portions too and let your DH what is left...that should stop him buying ridiculously small joints! Grin

Dcs weren't here they ate out with exdh (dad) so it was just for us.

Turned out nice and my huge yorkshire pudding was fantastic! Smile I'm still not a lamb fan tbh prefer beef chicken or pork.

Excellent, glad it turned out nice. I like the taste of lamb but it's too fatty for me. We had a big roast chicken - much more up my street.

Up mine too. I do like lamb in curry though so will stick with that.
