...a Swiss Steak recipe does well in Slow Cooker.Be sure to add about 8 small
shakes of Worchestershire sauce,1 Tablespoon of green pepper,a pinch of garlic
3/4 cup of ketchup,1/2 cup med.chopped onion,1 T.sugar,1 T. chili powder,a can of chopped up tomatoes (drained)...and brown the steaks Fast,coated with
flour,in a little oil.Combine all ingredients in a bowl,(not the meat);Place the prepared meat in the bottom of the cooker,Cover it with the sauce-salt the top
and cook.Any sauce that won't fit in is to be saved and poured over mashed potatoes,if your will be serving them as a side dish.Jill.

...My favorite "Crockpot" or slow-cooker is the Hamilton-Beach.We always buy
the Largest ones we can find. If preparing our favorite Swiss Steak recipe, we
gently remove the meat when it is done, and Thicken the sauce with a little
cornstarch dissolved in warm water...with the cooker reset to "High". Jill.

Well,we buy 3/4 inch good,Round Steak-we cut off most of the fat and after we
cut the meat into individual pieces...we have about 6-7 servings.Since we are
Sauce Freaks...we almost always Double the Sauce in a huge bowl...use part of
it for the cooker, and the rest is for a nice, thick Gravy for the meat and the
potatoes.I forgot to tell you to add 1 celery stick chopped into 1/4 inch slices
to add to the sauce mixture.Jill.
