On the quorn packet it says it only need a liitle time cooking. I think it said 8 minutes or so on the cob. Do you think I can bang it in with the rest of the chilli into the cooker?

Also what are you best chilli recipes? I always go to BBC food but maybe you have some secrets to make it extra tasty.

Hi

I have made quorn chilli in the slow cooker, I just throw everything in together and leave it.

I just do an old Slimming World recipe, which was just about free on green days.

Just quorn, onions, garlic (I think) chopped tomatoes, stock, kidney beans, green chillis, coriander, cumin, paprika and cayenne pepper... chuck it all in and leave.

Made it. It was OK but I think the quorn wasn't all that sadly. Although loads of chilli powder seemed to improve it vastly Grin.

My 'posh' chilli recipe involves chuck steak chopped into very small pieces rather than minced. The sauce contains fresh and dried chillis together with some cumin and garlic for depth of flavour. Passata, finely chopped red pepper, red oion and a good slug of red wine adds sweetness. Match the weight of meat with a few different types of bean rather than just dull old kidney beans. Don't skimp on the salt. Then cook long and slow - 3 or 4 hours in a cool oven - chill overnight and reheat the next day. Just before serving melt in a couple of squares of good dark chocolate and some fresh chopped coriander.
