Is there a 50mm wide gas cooker that is actually worth having?
We inherited the one we have in our kitchen now when we bought the house and I suspect it is at least 20 years old. As a result the walls of it are not very thick so it actually has a pretty decent amount of space inside it so I can cook using fairly wide trays etc. Unfortunately it is way past needing replacing, the seals have gone and we are probably heating way more of the kitchen (or maybe even the living room too) than we need to.
All the 50mm wide cookers I have seen so far appear to be designed to cook little more than a ready meal. The walls are now so thick because of improved insulation it leaves little space inside. We really can't afford to redo the whole kitchen right now so any new cooker needs to fit in the existing gap.
Am I kidding myself in hoping that I will be able to get a cooker that narrow for someone who likes cooking as much as I do?
