Things to do with blackberries which aren't either crumble or pie?

Any awesome inspiring suggestions, please? One of the few things that's grown properly and done as it should in our garden this year is our splendid blackberry bush, which is laden with big fat juicy blackberries and is of a variety that doesn't even have thorns, so a joy to pick.

However I'm bored with crumbles and pies every year. I only defrosted last years berries a few weeks ago, having got so tired of them by last October!

Inspire me?

Jam or strain the pulp to make jelly if you don't like the pips!

Though liking the idea of gin <hic>

Melt white chocolate, then leave it to set in little ramekins. Put a couple of blackberries on top of each one. Nice contrast to sweetness of the chic.

Found this in a book by Sarah Vine, can't remember what it's called.

I marinated a lamb shoulder overnight in red wine, squished up blackberries, rosemary (inserted into scored skin) and olive oil, with salt n pepper rubbed in. Then I slo-cooked it for 9hrs. It fell off the bone and was melt-in-the-mouth gorgeous. I skimmed the fat from the juices and added chicken stock to make gravy. Bloomin' luvverly!!!

Start with a couple of pounds of blackberries add 3lb of sugar, wine yeast, 6 pints of hot water. Wait a few months, then get pissed.

Another vote for the tray bake balia suggested. It's probably my favourite cake recipe at the moment. I couldn't stop eating them.

Jam. Or cordial. Cordial can be added to cava or prosecco for rather yummy Autumn drinkie poos!

Used to have something at home that was Danish, I think, called roedgroed - not too sure about spelling. It was a blackberry purée that was thickened and set.

I found this quick recipe for Yogurt Berry crunch which I soemtimes have after the gym or give to the kids calling it a (healthy) dessert:

The great thing is that it works really well with slightly soft and mushy fruit, so you don't feel bad about throwing fruit away!

Blackberry wine - I had a few kilos earlier this month, and it's bubbling happily in the kitchen now. All you need is a large container, a few kilos of sugar and some yeast - 22 litres of fruity wine for just the cost of the sugar grin

Well I am going to make blackberry vodka. I made sloe gin last year which went down a storm with SILs but I must admit I didn';t much like it - don't like gin with anything sweet. So blackberry vodka it is.

I remember having raspberry vinegar years ago - was lovely, like a sort of sharp cordial - guess you could so something simiar with bberries. Will look it up.
