Can I make cheese sauce with corn flour (instead of normal plain flour)?

Making cauliflower cheese later and was wondering if I can use corn flour instead. Does it make a roux in the same way as plain flour?

THanks

Absolutely. Use less and mix with cold water separately... actually I thought a roux was generally made with corn flour not plain...

I usually do it with cornflour, prefer it. Read the packet for the measurements of how much liquid it'll thicken and away you go :)

To clarify, I don't make a roux, just the milk and the cornflour then cheese or whatever. I don't add butter, no need to.

Does it taste as good?

I always do it with cornflour. I never use butter though either, no need.
