hi all just made ny first Xmas cake ad I have a few questions! Firstly I have 500g marzipan and 1kg of ready to roll icing, are these enough or will I need more marzipan? Don't want to be caught short! It's 8 inch square cake. Also how far in advance can I marzipan and ice my cake? Can I do it now or is it too soon? Thank you kindly
Don't ice it yet - you want to be feeding that every now and again now until nearer xmas. I'm not sure about the marzipan, I think it's always best to have over - there are plenty of other christmassy things to use it up with - DCs making little sweets etc.
