Ideas for a cold portable dinner that's quick to make

My 21 m.o. DS and I are probably going to be out tomorrow for both lunch and tea and I need to take something for us to eat. One meal is fine, I'll just do sandwiches, but I can't think of anything to take for dinner.

Any ideas?

It needs to be quick to prepare and not include tomatoes / citrus / strong spices / dairy products (other than milk/cream/cheddar cheese as I can get the lactose free versions of those). DS doesn't like salads either.

Oh, it can use cream cheese too though.

Pasta salad ? With peas, sweetcorn, and cubes of ham or chicken ?

Or do you have a flask to take stew ?

Home made cornish pasties?

Ooh, I like all those ideas.

I actually have some puff pastry in the fridge along with some swede so I might make pasties. If I put some beef in then I know DS will eat that at least.

In fact, I might roast some veg at the same time to make a frittata - I can do them for dinner tonight and see if DS is prepared to eat either (he can be fussy). Hmm

Well, the frittata was yummy even though I forgot to add cheese on top.

The pasties were nice although a bit soggy as I stupidly left them in the oven to cool. I think they'll be nice reheated tomorrow though.

DS declined the frittata and the pastry but ate the beef as predicted.
