My DS is 15 months & love Yorkshire puddings so I'm going to try homemade toad in the hole....! Does any one know if I can use a small cake tin tray to make little puds? Any suggestions welcome

No problem IF you are using the right sort of cake tin. This is not a plug for ours, but you ideally need one that is NOT non-stick coated steel because, to get a good rise, you want to get the pan good and hot before you start, and the best way to do that is to heat it on the top of the cooker. Most non-stick coated cake pans would blister withthe intense heat.

A loose base should not be a problem as if the pan is really hot it will cook its own seal with the batter as you pour it in.

I make toadlets in the hole (a good tin as above adviseable!).
I cut up skinny sausages or use chippolatas.
my toddler like one button mushroom in there too, these are called mushy puds ;)
