Making a thicker pizza...

I suspect the answer to this is obvious, but you never know.

DS will eat absolutely anything, except pizza. Always found this a bit of a shame because quite fun to make/add toppings etc. He loves all constituent parts, but not the end result.

Finally, he's come home from school saying that school pizzas are quite thick based and he really likes them, so now going to try making a thicker based pizza.

I've only ever made thin and crispy, but am assuming (please correct me if I am wrong) that I simply make the same dough and roll it thicker?! I'm worried this will produce a thick, soggy and very stodgy base, though have not actually tried it yet!

TIA for any useful tips.

Make the same base but don't add too much topping and leave your pizza to one side for about an hour before you bake it. The base will rise and will be thick but light.
