Self raising flour instead of baking powder?

Have run out of bread and can't be arsed to take dts to asda so thought we could bake some cheese scones for lunch.

Recipe calls for plain flour and baking powder but I am out of baking powder so can I use self raising instead?

I could go get some but it kind of defeats the point of baking if i nip to asda to get it!

If you're in the UK it will be fine.
If you're in the US where they put salt in the self-rising flour, it won't be.

Thank you.

They are now in the oven although with a lot less cheese than the recipe called for, but on the plus side, dts don't need a snack now!
