I start my full time job on the 1st 9-5 will probably be leaving the house at 7.45 and coming home at 6 (the latest) its all new to me i have 2dc's and 1 slightly fussy dss and dh who also works full time. Being a sahm for 5 years iv fully embrassed and enjoyed home cooking from scratch and cant bring myself to think we may have to eat from a packet. Can you guys help? what are your experiences? i am lucky enough to have two slow cookers one 6ltr and one smaller one which feeds us comfortably for one meal with extra steamed veg, also have a bread maker which i love and would hate to see go redundant. Also evean though bith dh and are now working we need to save as much as possible so girls best ideas please Smile

Why not make your meals (or the basics like whole rice and stews, bread etc.) on a day off work and freeze them (get the DCs to give a hand so yr not spending all of your precious day off cooking!) Or get up early, or prepare yr meal for the slo cooker the night before so you only have to turn it on the next day.

same here mothersmilk. i have just started f/t work after being a sahm for 5 years. we have been having some slow cooker meals but do not want to eat out of the slow cooker every night. i am on here looking for cook/plan ahead recipes that do not trap me in the kitchen every evening and miss out on DC time. any suggestions from organised working mums gratefully received.
