"honestly its not fish" recipes

I'm having a world of trouble getting my year old dd to even try anything with fish in it. I'm anxious to get to eat some fish as, though we do give her meat, the rest of the family don't eat it, so fish is a huge part of our diet. We've tried recipes with tuna, salmon, white fish, sardines, fish fingers (home made and commercially prepared) all with the same result. Food disdainfully picked up, or delicately removed from mouth, carefully examined, and dropped to floor. All subsequent bites refused. Even at nursery, where she usually eats everything that stays still long enough fish is a no no. Can anyone suggest any fish recipes that might escape detection?

Hmm...no experience with kids (yet!) so won't presume to tell you what to do.

I was at lunch on Saturday with a friend whose 14 month old was eating pasta with tuna, red onions, olives and a tomato based sauce - maybe you could try things where you flake the fish through something you know she likes? Maybe fish pie where she could eat the mash and sauce and get used to the taste of fish without the actual fish in her mouth, IYSWIM?

I don't have this issue as DH won't eat fish, so we don't get to eat it much, but DS doesn't eat much meat - I think the texture is the main problem - so I often blitz it in a sauce and serve it on pasta. Perhaps you could try something similar? Or mash some cooked fish with lots of cream cheese to make a pate and tell her it's just a fancy cheese sarnie?

My DS loves fish cakes. Salmon is his favourite but also make them with tinned tuna. Either left over mashed potato, or do one quick in the microwave, mix cooked/tinned fish in with the potato, bit of flour, an egg and fry in cakes. If you want to 'hide' the fish, you could try adding vegetables like peas or sweetcorn, and/or spring onions. As DS refuses spoons and won't pick up cooked vegetables I blitz peas and/or sweetcorn and add to fish cake mix. He loves ones with peas in. You can use sweet potato for a change (or extra flavour to hide fish) too.
