Flapjack; 6oz margarine 4oz sugar - caster, soft brown 1 tablespoon golden syrup 8oz oats Melt fats, sugar & syrup then add the oats. You can also add a small handful of sultanas or dried fruit, seeds, nuts if you fancy. Line a swiss roll tin with baking parchment (it sticks like crazy otherwise) Flatten the mixture and cook for 15-20 mins at Gas 4 150-160 fan Cut into fingers/squares when cold
Oaty biscuits; 2oz lard, marg, caster sugar, oats 4oz SR flour Cream the fats & sugar, add the flour and oats and knead well Make into walnut sized balls and place on a greased baking tray, flatten them slightly and leave them a fair bit of space to spread out. Cook for 15 mins at Gas 4 /150-160 fan Nice if you add a tsp of cinnamon or ginger or mixed spice with the flour.
