I need a recipe for PERFECT cherry scones, please, and fast!

My lovely MIL is coming over later to babysit for us, and I'd like to say thanks by making her favourite cherry scones. I made some a while back and while they tasted ok they didn't rise much and I wasn't happy with them.

So I'd really like to make some perfect ones so she can take a bag home with her tomorrow, to say thanks for staying over to babysit.

Anyone with a great recipe? Thanks.
