Slow Cooker Gammon recipe please?

I would like to do a gammon in the slow cooker and would love to hear if anyone has a good recipe.

I read somewhere that you can do it without adding any liquid??

Also do I buy a smoked or unsmoked joint?

I use unsmoked, half a carton of apple juice, cinamon stick, star anise, a good sprinkling of muscovado sugar and glob of honey.

Put gammon in slow cooker with everything in the morning, baste it during the day, the sauce should get quite sticky. yummy!
