have about 30 nectarines, very ripe, won't last. What can I make with them (don't make jams or stewed fruit preerves etc... no idea how tbh)

Use in smoothies, make a fruit pie or crumble or cobbler.

Or, slice them into wedges and lay them onto a paper-covered baking tin. Put the tin in the freezer until fruit is completely frozen, then pop the fruit slices into heavy freezer bags. Frozen sliced nectarines any time you want them. They are also a fab treat for children on hot days.

smoothies of course, duh - that's breakfast organised. Frozen sliced nectarine - never would have thought of that - thank you. I'll do that

would nectarine make a nice crumble - I was wondering because I don't think I have ever had a cooked desert with nectarine in it and wondered if there was a reason for it.

Slice and simmer gently with a little sugar to make a compote.
Freeze in portions, use as a topping for icecream or yogurt, pr to make crumble

Peach crumble is delish, so I bet nectarine would be good too

It works just like a peach. You just have to parboil them for a couple minutes so you can easily peel them. The skins are a horrible texture in baked desserts.

Too late, but, sterilise a several kilner/le parfait jars then

dip nectarines into boiling water, so that you can skin them
pack into the jars
fill about 1/3 of the way up with sugar
top up with 40% alcohol - I buy alcohol for fruit or use the cheapest vodka you can find.

Leave in a cool place until Christmas
Eat the fruit, and tip the rest into a bottle.

make a pavlova with nectarines and raspberries, yum

make a cake or frangipane tart with them - almonds are lovely with peaches and nectarines.

Get some peach angel delight, or yoghurt, and some ice lolly moulds. Mix chopped nectarine with the angel delight or yoghurt, put into moulds and freeze. Delicious healthy lollies!
