My DS will eat veg in soup (pureed, usually), loves cucumber and can be persuaded corn on the cob (but not off!)

We are making a deal that if he tries a new vegetable every day for the next two weeks he can choose a new wii game.

courgette - looks like a cucumber grin

peppers - brightly coloured and you can fill them with anything - so you could for instance make a shepherds pie - inside the pepper.

i also think they are nore interested in food if you involve them in cooking it.

also - my son is totally put off pepper - becuase he thinks its going to be hot -chili- like, despite me telling him for years and years it isn't he wont believe me.

so maybe you could cheat and call it a sweet bell pepper in the first instance.

have you ever peeled a carrot down to its inner most core? it;s the sweetest thing.

Lots of children love raw veg. Cherry tomatoes are good (even though really a fruit), carrot sticks, celery sticks, mangetout, etc.

Thanks - I think raw is definitely the way to go. I think he has more of a problem with texture than flavour.

Mine adore raw sugar snap peas. they are very sweet.

Frozen peas still frozen are popular here. Also parsnips roasted with butter and honey, tenderstem broccoli and sweet potato cut into chips and roasted in the oven.

Mine eat chickpeas straight out of the tin if i happen to be cooking with them.

I don't normally like raw carrots but the pre-pepared 'baby' carrots they do in Asda (don't know where else) are really nice. Otherwise, prepare carrot batons, put in a glass of water in the fridge to crisp up.

Def try the sugar snap peas, fun to pod and eat (in summer try to get some fresh normal peas in the pod too).

Are there any salad leaves he might contemplate? My non-veg loving DD likes the crisp stems of romaine lettuce.

I buy loads of sugar snaps. Even when they are out of season. blush

When the DC are in bed I get a pot of them and dip them in soy sauce. Yum.

We mix chopped frozen spinach into omelets and baked potatoes mixed with lots of grated cheese. It has "green bits" so he'll know he's getting veggie points but you really can't taste it.
