Steak & Kidney pie?

I'm defrosting a pack of steak and kidney now, was going to do a stew type thing with it, but I'm bored of those and have some shortcrust pastry that I need to use up in the fridge.

What the bloody hell shall I do with it so that it turns into a nice rich filling for a pie? Only ever done a chicken pie before

would slow cook the meat down with some onions and a glug of worcester and mushroom ketchup
reduce to make a gravy then add the pie lid

Well I've made it, the filling tastes lovely, meat nice and tender, but a lot is to be said for my pastry I'll hide it with gravy
