Slow cooker ham

Right, trying out my new slow cooker today.

I have a fairly big ham in that I put on on high at 6.45, turned down to low at 7.45. I worked out it would need about 8-10 hours, which means getting up in the middle of the night. Do I have to, or will it be OK until morning?

Also, Should I glaze it properly tomorrow? Was hoping to just leave it, I put it in covered in a sprinkle of cloves and palm sugar. Does it need more glaze? Thanks, wise and experienced slow cooks.

i personally would leave it over night, i normally cook mine for well over 12 hours. ime it wont glaze in a slow cooker, but you dont have to glaze if you dont want. previously i have scored the fat doused in honey and put in a medium over for twenty mins or so.

Thank you

It seems to be about half full now with liquid. Should I just leave it or pour some out?

Leave it in the liquid. My mum does hers in coke, to give it a sweet taste, but I just do mine plain.

So easy & delicious!
