How do I rehome a plec?

My ExH kept a tropical fish tank and when we split up 4 years ago he abandoned it and I took it over. I didn't really want the responsibility, but I didn't have much choice. He was already running it down anyway (i.e. Not replacing fish if they died) so it only had a handful in the tank when he left and I expected they'd gradually die off in time. Over the years, the others have died off and now I just have one left - a spotty plec about 8 or 9 inches long. He must be about 5 or 6 years old at a guess and seems very healthy. I'm actually quite fond of him! However, I am moving in the summer and there is definitely no space in my new place for the tank and it's one remaining occupant. So my question is, how do I rehome a plec? Advice welcome.

I've actually been pondering the same question as my tank was sold to me with the fish included and I have 2 of them.

Do you have any local fish shops that you could ask if they would take them on? I know a independent one near me that do take in fish on occasion?

Failing that Facebook or gumtree but perhaps vet them first to make sure they have some knowledge.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll try those options. I have a few months before I move so I have time to find a good home, hopefully.

Vets may know of a local fish keeper who could take him on.

My local pets at home has a couple of donated fish in a display tank (not for sale), perhaps you could ask your local store if they'd be interested.
