Cloud mountain minnows - only one eats the food

Hi, title summarises it really.

We have 6 cloud mountain minnows, in our new tank. Water is all ok - we bought the tank back in November and it has been through the whole nitrogen cycle set up. Fish bought last weekend. There are 4 medium sized ones (about 2-2.5cm long) and 2 smaller ones (about 1-1.5cm long).

My question is this: when we feed them (once a day, as advised by fish shop, using TetraPro premium flakes for tropical fish) only one of the larger fish actually even notices the food. He usually has a good feed, but the others eat nothing. I don't think the others (particularly not the smaller two) have eaten a thing all week. I don't think they even realise it is there.

The plants are all plastic, so it's not even as though the baby fish are eating plants instead. Sounding like my DM here, I don't know how they will ever get bigger if they don't eat anything.

Any advice anyone? We are novices here.

Have you tried offering them any livefood? That might get them interested. Some fish don't eat for a day or so after moving tanks because of the stress and it takes a nice treat to get them motivated.
The other fish could be picking at the flakes that settle in the tank when you're not looking.

Yes, try giving them a bag of daphnia (rinse it through in a net first). They move pretty quick and even the most sluggish minnow will turn into a teeny predator Grin

My wcmm love blood worm, I just feed them the ones that come in wee tubes, they are not the frozen ones.

I also changed from flakes to micro pellets as I thought they were easier for them to get their mouths around, since changing my gold wcmm have really coloured up and are beautiful.

The micro pellets I use are Hikari ones for tropical fish.
