Did i read somewhere they like peas or did i dream it?

So, if they like peas how? Frozen or cooked? Lobbed in whole or cutted up?

Or would they prefer lettuce?

And i have 6. Would they be happier with a few more?

Most fish love peas but it does go through them pretty quickly so feed them sparingly! Lettuce usually goes down well too. Don't be alarmed by the bright green poo :)

With lettuce, you blanche it and you can either spear it on a teaspoon to make it sink or you can buy special clips that stick on the side of the glass.

With peas, just boil them up enough to split the skin then squish up the inside and drop it in the tank. Don't give them the skin, it's too tough for them to digest.

6 minnows is enough for a shoal but if you have space for more then I bet they'd love the extra company.

How long should i leave them in for them to have enough before o hoik it out?

Originally I was going to get a couple of goldfish. Then decided on minnows. Then thought i might add a goldfish. But now maybe i'll just stick to minnows.

I wouldn't leave it much longer than 3 or 4 mins, peas can get messy! 1 or 2 should be plenty for 6 minnows.

Goldfish and minnows don't really mix, a fully grown goldfish can easily eat a minnow. Also goldfish get so chuffing big that not many people have the space for the size tank they need. That's why I like minnows Grin

Oh lovely. Thanks v much. Is it unreasonable to boil up 2 peas? Or would that be a waste of gas? Maybe I'll wait till we humans are having peas.

Might go and look at the fish shop tomorrow.........

Just look.......

And maybe get the boys some little fishy treats. Or some friends......

I usually nuke them in a ramekin or yes, you can keep leftovers. You can freeze some mashed up veg in ice cube trays like baby food if you have a lot leftover.
