at night when I turn the aquarium light off should I also turn the airpump/bubbles off too?? So far I haven't been.

You can if you want if it's noisy because the bubbles are mainly decorative, but you should never turn the filter off because the good bacteria die off without an oxygen supply so they need the water to be flowing all the time.

Ok thanks. Yes, the noise is the main issue but we will leave it on....just wasn't sure if it disturbs the fish when they are trying to sleep as I know the light should be turned off.

My DH just says they are only fish and thinks I am mad but I still want them to be happy!!
