I'd appreciate some movie suggestions.

I want to watch some movies that are about the story and not special effects.

No horrors, sci-fi,heists etc just a'human' story if you know what I mean.

It can be about anything really, about an individual or many stories. True or fiction.

Something like What's Eating Gilbert Grape,Whale Rider, Lorenzo's Oil, Chaplin etc.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Don't see "In Bruges". Saw it at the cinema and it was a total let down.

Big fish was quite good. Donnie Darko, too. Ummm, need to think about it - don't get out much .

One I saw recently on a flight about two old people with dementia meeting up in an old folks home and forgetting about their familys and the effect that has. Can't remember the name but was really touching and quite uplifting in many ways.
Will remember it soon

Thought I would recognise when I heard it but now I wonder. It sounds really depressing but it wasn't and was very well acted. Based somewhere cold like Canada

Also recommend Tell No One - French version based on Harlan Coben's novel. So much better than the Americans would have done it.

'into the wild' though very long. Brilliant film.

'He was a quiet man' very good.
