hey! just found out there's going to be a film version!!! (many apols if everyone knows this already and i'm last to find out!!)

zhang ziyi as sayuri (from crouching tiger and HERO),malaysia's own michelle yeoh as mameha (from the james bond movie and the touch), gong li as hatsumomo (farewell my concubine), ken watanabe as the chairman(the last samurai).

CAN't WAIT!!!!!!!!

I loved this book - one of the better geisha books about. Had heard about the film but didn't know when it's going to be out - will probably be an Art Center/Picture House type of film me thinks!. Will certainly be going to see it.
