I think he’d make an excellent bond with a new dynamic

It’s not officially confirmed but they are expecting it to be soon

Anyone would be an improvement on Daniel a Craig.

I heard this too and thought he would be a rubbish choice. So boring. I feel like we don't need another white bloke either. I'd have been happier with Idris Elba or a female Bond.

There's been rumours floating about for years (big Hardy fan here Grin)

Personally I hope he isn't. I can't see him as Bond and I think it's a bit of a formulaic, sellout role. Although he went down that road already with Venom I suppose. I just wish he'd just kept doing interesting roles in smaller films.

No pool I like Tom hardy!

Bond should have died a death after Brosnan, is was antiquated and sexist then, but Brosnan at least made it vaguely palatable. Best thing about current bond is Judy Dench

This has been floating around for years. He’d make a shit Bond.

Rebelwithallthecause · 20/09/2020 08:22

Just dench really is the best bit about bond

Daniel Craig is not a good bond

Not too sure I preferred Brosnan though Grin

Idris Elba would be dreamy as bond.

Looking forward to seeing PWB’s direction on the next one

Doesn’t seem to just be a floating rumour anymore

Plus he's too old. He'd been late 40s by the time they started filming.

That's not me being ageist, that's how the producers would look at it

I think Henry cavill would bring a bit of ‘old bond’ style back

Ooh I thought brosnan was one of the worst bonds, and Daniel Craig was fantastic in the role.

I could see Tom hardy do it. But also some of the others rumoured.

Balaur · 20/09/2020 08:28

Yeah Cavill would be a good choice. Or even someone less well known. I also wish they'd shake up the whole Bond formula to be honest.

I always thought Sachs Baren Cohen would make a good bond too

Must be a hard thing to shake up as it’s almost institutional

Expecting there to be at least some surprises in the new PWB one though

Fingers crossed!

The thing i really can't see Tom Hardy doing is the schmoozy stuff with women that Bond requires. He rarely has any love scenes in any films (I don't count the one in Taboo!)

I don't think he "does" romance.

Report
Rebelwithallthecause · 20/09/2020 08:32

Maybe there be less of the schmoozy.

That’s the part of bond that doesn’t translate as well to the modern day as they’d have to show him gaining some sort of consent which was never bonds style

I really don't get the hype around Tom Hardy full stop. My money's on James Norton.

I like a bit of Tom but Bond? Nope.
Bond villain? Possibly.

Camp Idris here.

Yeah people seem to get Tom Hardy or not. I always play bingo on those threads "what do you not get that other people love" because he always, always pops up Grin

Yes James Norton is the one I liked! There were rumours about him a while back.

Not seen James Norton act before.

Googling him my initial thought would be he has a good face for a villain

A Bond villain!? Good call! Yes!

Sean Connery IS Bond

All others are poor imitations.

DC is particularly poor.
Can't see TH being very good, he lacks that charisma & sexiness bond needs.

Judi Dench is amazing.
