Hello everyone,
I work in film and I'm also a private tutor. Many of my clients over the years have asked for help with getting their kids acting/film experience or agents, etc.
I am thinking of organising a one-off 4-5 hr workshop to best advise parents, with children who want to act, about the film industry, which can feel a bit impenetrable from the outside. I was thinking of organising talks on how to approach a talent agent, the audition process, your and your child's legal rights vs duties of the filmmakers, and even a talk on consent and mature content. Finally I was thinking of rounding off all the talks with a chance to network with industry speakers and other parents in the same boat.
I would love to hear from parents with children who are or would like to be in the film industry. Would something like this, geared towards parents, be of interest? Would a 4-5 hour workshop at the weekend be something you can/would commit to? What are your biggest questions / areas of concern when it comes to the film industry? What would be most beneficial topics to cover in a workshop?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks,
Jess
