...you wish you had said, or could say in 'real life', so to speak?

Fried Green Tomatoes. "Face it girls, I'm older and I have more insurance!"

In "Liar Liar" I love it when Jim Carey says "And the truth shall set you free" and I say it IRL whenever I get the chance!

I am of course aware it is originally from the bible....

Not the exact quote per se, but an adaptation when dealing with annoying people: from Gangs of New York (when Bill commissions Jack to kill Amsterdam; ensuring a distinct unblurring of where Jack sits in the pecking order)

"Here's the thing. I don't give a tuppenny fuck for your moral conundrum you meat headed shit sack. That's pretty much the thing"

"What if this is it? What if this is as good as it gets?" Jack Nicholson said in his therapists waiting room.

"You've got red on you" sean of the dead - i say this frequently at work.

These are great, especially the Fried Green Tomatoes one! I confess that I have a tendency to rattle off Monty Python quotes for most occasions, but a friend said "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" the other day and it got me thinking...

I also love it in Dangerous Liaisons when Glenn Close says during a verbal battle with John Malkovich:

"One of the reasons I have never remarried, despite a quite bewildering array of offers, is a determination NEVER AGAIN to be ordered about. I must therefore ask you to adopt a less marital tone."

Terrible I know but I remember when I was a kid and I'd watched this movie where the character said "jheez who died" and I always wanted to say it, then one day my aunt came over and her and my mum were crying and hugging and I blurted out "jheez who died" and honestly the look they both gave me was like I had just said the worst thing in the world..... It weren't until about an hour later when my dad pulled me to the side and told me my grandad died that morning that I realised what I said was truly the worst thing I could of said Blush LOL. I felt terrible but I was only 6 or 7. Think it's safe to say that I've avoided using lines from movies since that day!! Lol

Really, really corny - but from Dead Poets Society -

'Seize the day. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may.' Why does the writer use these lines?
Because we are food for worms, lads. Because, believe it or not, each and every one of us in this room is one day going to stop breathing, turn cold and die.

carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.

I love the Fried Green Tomatoes one, it resonates more and more the older I get!

We are always randomly quoting lines from films and TV shows in this house as they are apt for numerous situations, a few are:

From Airplane:
Don't call me Shirley
Looks like I picked the wrong week to give up smoking/drinking/sniffing glue

From The Good, The Bad and The Ugly:
You are the son of a thousand fathers, all bastards like you
If you come to shoot, shoot - don't talk

Various from Monty Python, particularly the Four Yorkshiremen Sketch:
We lived in 'ole in road, etc.

Blackadder Goes Forth:
Bit of a gabbler me, no finesse

Vicar of Dibley:
Is sex with poodles always wrong?

None terribly profound but all have their usesGrin.
