Platoon Sad... I find adagio for strings the most heart wrenching piece of music, it's unrelenting...

On the other hand,...There's something about Mary Smile (build me up buttercup never fails to make me smile)

Guardians 1 and 2

I haven't seen Guardians 2, found Guardians 1 OK but ultimately not a huge fan of comic book stuff.... Liked how the soundtrack was a big part of the movie though, the scene where Chris Pratt is first introduced in Guardians 1 strutting around listening to his Walkman was cool Grin

Must warn you This is England is grim. The soundtrack probably not what you might have in mind. It's instrumental for a start. Blush

It was a film that then spawned 3 series. All very gritty, raw and brutal at times. So fantastically written and performed that the musical score gives me goosebumps every time I hear it but not a singalong by any means. No nice little ditties. Not for the faint-hearted. Shock

Can't believe nobody has said

Highlander?
Purple rain? Absolute classics

But also
Pretty woman (I especially like Jane wiedlin Tangled and Lauren Wood Fallen)
The graduate
Saturday night fever
Say anything
Ferris bueller's day off
Romeo & Juliet (90's in a nutshell)
The karate kid
Back to the future

Instrumental I'm torn between
Copycat due to Fauré's requiem in paradisum
Chariots of Fire and
Star Wars.

Gladiator and LOTR, yes.

The English Patient
Desperado has a great soundtrack
Until the End of the World (Wim Wenders film) soundtrack has lots of gems by Lou Reed, REM, Nick Cave and loads more
Batman Forever - crap film, awesome soundtrack
Thelma and Louise - perfectly encapsulates the sense of fun, freedom and poignancy of the film

Some brilliant ones here .... films nowadays don't seem to do the "soundtrack" thing as much, such a shame. Movie posters aren't as much of a thing either, I remember having them all over my wall.

In the interests of tack I'll add Cocktail to the list Wink > sings badly to Kokomo
