I was wondering what people would like to see win on Sunday night.
I haven't seen La La Land yet but a few people I know did and seemed underwhelmed by it. I loved Hell or High Water and Manchester by the Sea so I would be happy to see either of those being a surprise winner for Best Picture.
I think Casey Affleck would really deserve best actor and I'll have my fingers crossed for Ruth Negga. I've seen 3 of the best supporting actors and don't have a strong opinion-they were all good.
I haven't seen Moonlight, Fences or Hidden Figures yet so my opinions might change.

Oh are we all watching it together on Sunday? Im getting bubbles in! I didnt like LaLaland but adored Moonlight and Fences. Its a tough one because it will go either way with LaLaLand winning everything or the others winning each abit. Theres only one feel good movie out there. It will be interesting.

La La Land doesnt deserve the hype.

Manchester by the sea was just depressing with totally unsympathetic characters imo.

Hidden Figures was amazing.

I hope Lion gets some awards.

Havent seen Fences or Moonlight.

I hated Manchester by the Sea. Loved Fences but it wouldn't be everyones cup of tea. Im hoping for some surprises.

Not seen the films yet but have read up and seen trailers and excerpts.

I must admit I like denzel and viola Davies and hope they win. La la land while I love musicals doesn't look that great plus I can't stand Ryan gosling (I know sacrilege on mn!).

So, does anyone else think the organisers did it all on purpose, to ensure that was the Oscars story everyone is talking about (just in case there were any political speeches)?

I've just seen a still pic that shows the front of the envelope Warren Beatty was holding and it does say "Actress In a leading role". Looks like someone handed him a duplicate envelope. Tbh, if I was him, I probably wouldn't have looked at the front of it either and just gone on stage.

Very, very gracious handover by the producers of La La Land. I felt so sorry for them.

I've not seen the films just yet unfortunately, I usually get them on DVD, I really like the look of Lion, so twas a shame Dev Patel didn't win. La La Land, so doesn't appeal to me.
There was some talk about lots of people mentioning the political goings on, anyone do that?
I can't watch the awards live, so hopefully I'll see the highlights.
