Help. What film/tv show is this line from? (vague)

I'm one of those annoying sods who either bursts into song or quotes lines from films at random moments picking up on what someone has just said (I know, it's like a compulsion, definitely a habit)

Anyhow, someone mentioned the name "Katie" and into my head popped the following and I can't for the life of me remember where it's from.

It's a man saying (or rather taking the piss) out of someone with a stutter (sorry for non PCNess) called Kate/Katie with a " K..K...K...Katie"

Any ideas? Told you it was vague. However the "K" is pronounced "Kuh" and it's 100% in an Australian accent.

I think it's an old film/tv, as in 1980/1990's.

There's a song called that (K-K-K Katie) - not Australian though...

Oh, sorry, thought it was a song you'd got - misread the OP!

Is it The Way We Were?

The way we were, with Barbara Streisand?

I don't think it's The Way We Were. You know that Australian actor who did a few things in that era (not Paul Hogan), Brian somebody perhaps? I'm not sure if I'm picturing him saying it? Fair hair. Looked as if he'd be a bit of a twat IRL.

Hmm, not sure on the Bryan angle now. Nothing's sticking out from his Wiki list Sad

Definitely Australian accent though Confused I think it was a well know "thing" as well.

K-K-Katie, beautiful Katie
You're the only g-g-girl that I adore
And when the m-m-moonshines over the c-c-cow shed
I'll be waiting at the k-k-kitchen door

Used to sing it as kids Grin
