BAFTA is based in Picccadilly and whilst some events are for members/members guetss only, there are many that aren't limited and they can be great fun depending on your (or your DC's) ages and interests.
For example, on Sat 5th March there is a preview of Eps. 1& 3 of season 4 of the childrens drama Wolfblood And on the 12th (I think its the 12th but do check first!) there is a Virtual Reality session with the developers of the game The Assemblywhere you get to play first and then have a Q&A with the tech geeks guys behind it.
Posting this as these really are great events and a whole bunch of them with a really wide variety are across the year are on, complete with access to expertise if it's an industry you want to get into, but it's suddenly dawned on me over the past few days that people really do seem to see BAFTA as a bit 'other-worldy', and not something 'accessible' to them IYKWIM?
Well, it is! And 'accessible' aside, it's always and incredible value too - IE for Wolfblood, (which is the first screening of first 2 ep's,from new season) the screening will THEN be followed by a Q&A with the series creator/the Director/one or poss more of the actors, for the grand total of a fiver for adult ticket & 3 quid for a children's one 
Be especially great if you have younger ones that love the series already, or older ones who might have an interest in career in the telly/film industry.
The only thing I will flag is that the theatre inside is pretty small, so if lots of people suddenly get interested in one specific event then it will sell out v v quickly (esp. given that the prices are - in the context of prices for all else - very very cheap).

I can (I think!) answer most of your questions but THE most critical question right NOW is HAVE YOU GOT TICKETS???!!
As without that, the Q's are not worth asking! The Princess Anne Theatre, whilst really IS just a frickin LOVELY plush venue really IS also on the small side, so iirc, it's got 227 (will go dbl check this number!) seats. Which, if people are going in parties of 3/4/5 - lets take 4 as the average which seems about right if I recall my now past days of taking DCs to early morning Movies - with 4 people per booking, then it only takes 56 bookings to be sold out 
So yes, I will HAPPILY answer your Q's but first of all run and book tickets toute bloody suite, & then run back and let us know if you've actually secured tickets (as I suspect Boleaux may be correct in her - apposite vis time now - observation! And i'm also wondering how many people may have just skipped off to buy tickets instead of posting here...
Oh, and if that WAS you - IE skipping off straight away to buy tickets
- then do please come back and advise if you have or have NOT been able to secure tickets???

ladystoic, we attended this today, just back, and I wanted to say thank you for letting us know about it - a totally fab event.
BUT! All the tickets were sold out and yet half the cinema was empty. what a terrible waste of spaces!
