I'm feeling pretty shit right now (have a thread in 30 days) recommend me a film to watch which is on netflix or is free on amazon prime.

RuggerHug Fri 12-Feb-16 20:57:16

I am slightly addicted to Netflix, name genres or ones you like to narrow down the suggestions smile

What sort of film do you feel in mood for? No idea about netflix etc but could recommend happy feel good films which might help if you had a bad week. Xx

Vintage45 Fri 12-Feb-16 20:58:29

What sort of thing do you like? whats "having a thread"?

fruitandbarley Fri 12-Feb-16 20:59:59

Cuban Fury or Pride

londonrach Fri 12-Feb-16 21:01:49

Ok my happy films

Prince and i
Music and lyrics (the ending....gets me every time )
Notting hill
Pretty much anything with huge grant
There are others but sure others can give better suggestions....

But you might want someone more gripping

As in I have started a thread in "30 day" vintage

I like most things, in the mood for feel good or comedy. Or gritty, not a lover of action but like sci fi.

Odd Thomas on Netflix was really good, it was not what I was expecting but I gve it 5 stars.

I also recently watched liar liar again.

If you fancy it, they also have the good wife - love it. 😄

I was very pleasantly surprised by Begin Again on Netflix - it was a lovely film.

Vintage45 Fri 12-Feb-16 21:08:55

Ok, was just asking, didn't know it existed grin

Any comedy with Sandra Bullock.

Chimchar Fri 12-Feb-16 21:08:59

I loved The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

It was a lovely, easy, funny, feel good film.

Not read your other thread, but hope things get better for you soon.

I was going to come on to say Begin Again as well, great film and should be a perfect pick me ip

Junosmum Fri 12-Feb-16 21:12:05

I'll add these to my list and pick one, thanks guys

I'm currently watching guardians of the galaxy. Lots of funny bits I've seen it a good few times. I'm watching it on sky though so unsure on Netflix or prime!

On Netflix, both got Mark Duplass in, an amazing, so far little known actor.
The One I Love and Creep.

Both very different but fantastic. I have recommended them to loads of folk who have all REALLY enjoyed them.

And on sky box sets, The Jinx, a six part documentary on Robert Durst. Just mesmerising. The film As Good As It Gets is also based on his early life and is really good too.

Annabel7 Fri 12-Feb-16 21:41:45

Still Alice and Selma are free on one or the other. Not cheery films but brilliant.

Annabel7 Fri 12-Feb-16 21:43:18

Also agree with Begin Again - bit happier than my other suggestions...

19lottie82 Fri 12-Feb-16 21:43:22

cotton..... I think you mean all good things grin

SaucyJack Fri 12-Feb-16 21:47:31

Warrior is always worth a watch if it's still on Netflix.

SaucyJack Fri 12-Feb-16 21:48:35

And Gone Baby Gone was good, but I don't think it's anybody's idea of uplifting.

SheDoneAlreadyDoneHadHerses Fri 12-Feb-16 21:50:29

Little Miss Sunshine is a bloody brilliant feel-good film, doesn't feel like it as the character build is really indepth, but it's just wonderful
What Dreams May Come makes crying a cathartic help
If you like Joss Whedon then Doctor Horrible's Singalong Blog is on youtube in full (and excellent)
Dreamgirls is one of my favourites

(and White Chicks. Don't judge me. It's all about Terry Crews)

ijustwannadance Fri 12-Feb-16 21:51:08

Antman. Harmless fun.

ijustwannadance Fri 12-Feb-16 21:53:17

This means war might still be on prime
