Who should play Jack Reacher?

Inspired by the James Bond thread. If anyone was to make another Jack Reacher film then who should play him? 15 years ago it would have been Liam Neeson. I can't think of anyone suitable now.

Loved the Tom Hanks suggestion and I quite agree. Literally anyone other than Cruise. Philip Seymour Hoffman in character as Truman Capote would have been better than Cruise. In fact Hoffman was so amazing in everything he could have been a fantastic Reacher despite being - ahem - unsimilar physically. No more so than pocket-sized Tommy mind you.
