Anyone else seen it yet?

I went yesterday and I bloody loved it. Really strong female characters and great SFX. Really on the edge of my seat through the whole thing.

Have you seen these posters? Grin

They've made me really want to watch the film now...

Those posters are brilliant Grin

I absolutely love it, it's the best thing I've seen at the cinema for years. It's so well crafted on every level I honestly don't get how anyone can not love it.

Pretty sure George Miller is some kind of genius.

Seen it twice! Want to see it again!

I don't even like action movies...

DP and I went to see it in 2D and we both loved it, the best thing either of us have seen at the cinema for yonks. So different from any existing action film, and so visually rich and exciting. Looking forward to seeing it again in 3D!

Couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Brilliant! Charlize Theron was excellent

Yeah, I think I liked it. I came out of there feeling a bit blown over, I think I was holding my breath for 2 hours!

Literally the only reason I went to see it is because I'd heard that the MRAs were angry about it. Had no idea wjat it was about but very glad I went to see it.

I loved it. Like Hoot, literally the only thing that got me there was that I'd heard the MRA loons had their knickers in a twist over it so I read up a little about it and thought "hmm, that looks alright actually". So I made DH's year by going with him! So that's two more tickets than would otherwise have been sold, as he wouldn't have gone unless I had.

It was great, and I hope it cleans right up at the box office as that ought to send a great message that many women don't necessarily dislike action films, just...shit action films, especially those with shit female characters Grin And we might get more films made that DH and I will happily go and see together...

Right, I'm embarrassed to say this, but over the past year or two, I have turned into an absolute wuss! I really want to go and see this and I don't want to wait for the dvd. So, can anyone tell me if it has any disturbing scenes. I mean, I know that's fairly subjective, but I'm just trying to get an idea. I think dp will leave me if I don't go and see this Grin

There are some scenes that are a bit creepy . A lot of the characters are quite disturbing but it's not gory . It's a 15 so they haven't showed anything too horrible . I guess it depends what freaks you out.

There may be spoilers here, but I find the IMDB Parents Guide quite good for knowing they type of film you sare going to watch:

Neighbour, I don't like really tense, jumpy scenes. And I can't watch anything with sexual violence at all, but unfortunately that seems to be becoming the norm.

Ta zippey.

I watched it yesterday, to be honest I quite liked it, the visual effects of the movie was great. However, I didn't feel that Max was mad enough lol, and also the movie was more about that woman played by Charlize Theron instead of Mad Max

I've never seen any mad max films so I had no idea what I was going to see.

I watched it in omg what's going on sort of fascinated, can't take my eyes off the screen sort of way.

Still feeling the shock!

I missed it at the cinema, went to see the Avengers instead. But Now I've seen it on DVD I'm gutted I missed out!

It's instantly become one of my favourite films - I love the characters (especially Nux - I thought he was just cannon fodder, but his arc was brilliant), the vehicles, the fight scenes, that guitar playing nutcase, the music, even the colours. It's amazing!! I've never seen a mainstream film look so much like art. And I love that they broke so many of the stereotypes of how female characters are 'supposed' to behave.

nothtestereotype Did you see it in the end? I hate sexual violence too, and I found nothing in the film triggering. It actually seemed to have enough respect for its audience to assume we'd understand what the women had been through without having to see it with our own eyes. It's not hard to watch at all.

Agreed that this film is brilliant! Saw it at the cinema and just bought it on blu-ray.

I loved Charlize Theron in it.
