It is awesome so how have I never watched this before??

Never watched St Elmo's Fire either and really feel I should!

Nicknacky Fri 24-Apr-15 21:30:41

I fucking love this film. Never gets old.

Love The Breakfast Club.

I didn't 'get' St Elmo's Fire'. Feel like I missed something.

Rhubarbgarden Fri 24-Apr-15 21:32:17

I had a huge crush on the Judd Nelson character. Happy memories!

spookyskeleton Fri 24-Apr-15 21:32:38

How good is Judd Nelson in it?? And Ally Speedy??

Sparklingbrook Fri 24-Apr-15 21:34:53

One of my favourites.

Richard Vernon:
Any questions?
John Bender:
Yeah, I got a question. Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?

Excellent film ! My DB and I still quote from it grin

I love Brian. Feel so sad for him.

kippersmum Fri 24-Apr-15 21:36:22

Oh wow!! enjoy! I love this film. The scene at the end is great, I wont say anymore...

I'd totally shag Bender.

Breakfast Club Bender, not Futurama Bender.

kippersmum Fri 24-Apr-15 21:36:48

which channel is it on???

Sparklingbrook Fri 24-Apr-15 21:36:48

I have a boxed set

About Last Night (my favourite film ever in the whole wide world)
St Elmo's Fire
The Breakfast Club

Perfect 80s afternoon....

GonePenguin Fri 24-Apr-15 21:37:39

Molly Ringwald's complexion... <girl crush>

Goldmandra Fri 24-Apr-15 21:39:21

I'm older than you! have never seen it and will soon give in to DD1's pleas for me to watch it with her.

Sparklingbrook Fri 24-Apr-15 21:40:59

Molly Ringwald went and did Pretty in Pink which in my expert on all soppy 80s movies was not great. that dress was bogging for a start and Duckie was way hotter than drippy Blane.

spookyskeleton Fri 24-Apr-15 21:41:01

I am babysitting at a friends and they have it downloaded so I am sat here with wine and chocolate...perfect smile

Never thought Judd Nelson was attractive but I do now gringrin

Never seen About Last Night either. I must have led a very sheltered life!

TheWildRumpyPumpus Fri 24-Apr-15 21:41:04

Totally different style off film but I watched High Society yesterday and it was so good!

Love me a musical.

crumpet Fri 24-Apr-15 21:41:14

Wouldn't bother with St Elmos Fire - it's pretty rubbish, although I remember wanting to look like Demi Moore in it

Sparklingbrook Fri 24-Apr-15 21:41:20

*expert opinion

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe Fri 24-Apr-15 21:41:22

I love 'St Elmo's Fire', totally DIDN'T get 'The Breakfast Club'... I seem to be on my own there, have tried three times now to get into it and it just leaves me completely unmoved and wanting my bed. blush

Sparklingbrook Fri 24-Apr-15 21:43:10

Rob Lowe in About Last night. It does not get more perfect than that.

I think St Elmo's is great. I dragged DH to the bar where it was filmed when we were on holiday. blush

squoosh Fri 24-Apr-15 21:45:37

I like St Elmo's for it's 80's-tastic-ness. And it's big cheesy soundtrack complete with requisite 80's sax.

Best birthday I had was when I was a teenager and my best friend gave me a surprise dinner party at her house (spag bol) with my fave friends followed by a showing of The Breakfast Club in her sitting room. Friends for life smile

kippersmum Fri 24-Apr-15 21:46:53

I wasted a large amount of my teenage years dreaming about Judd Nelson in the Breakfast Club....

Could be topped by The Outsiders though.
