Then have your mind changed and watch the little gem Begin Again on Netflix. Yes, I know, a film that's actually recent, and really good, on NETFLIX Grin.

It's about the music industry, staying true to yourself, the transformative power of friendship...it's just wonderful. And there are some great songs in it.

Here's the trailerSmile

I bloody love KK. She is so incredibly bloody beautiful.

Recently watched a film she did (Last Night) with Sam Worthington and Eva Mendez which was a refreshing change from the usual happy ending rom com. It also had French dreamboat Guillaume Canet. Which was nice.

Will watch this today. Mark Ruffalo is ace.

Oh gosh yes! It's a lovely little film. I went to see it with a group of friends at a "girls night out" event that our local cinema ran (glass of wine, icecream and a goody bag and whatever movie they picked). I didn't even know what the movie was going to be.

Must go and rewatch it if it's on Netflix Grin

I really liked Begin Again and usually I avoid Kiera Knightley films, I thought it was lovely, I really liked the relationship between Mark Ruffalo and Catherine Keener.

I know KK is not popular here but I don't have a problem with her at all and quite like her. I will look for that film, thanks.

Yes, I've no strong feelings myself, but I thought she was perfectly cast in this.

I've just gone to watch this and can't find it on UK Netflix?

Is it the US one it's on?

Report
BitOfFun · 16/04/2015 20:30

No, it's definitely on the UK one. The search function is crap. I went to Browse>Movies>Romance or something and found it that way.

Thanks for this BitOfFun. As a KK skeptic, I wasn't sure about watching it, but sounds like I'm missing out.

Love Mark Ruffalo as well - such a fab actor and seems like a gentle soul despite being the Hulk in Avengers

We watched it a few weeks back and loved it. But I like KK anyway. I had the song on the roof in my brain ever since.

The film in which Mark Ruffalo is a chef is really good - the only downside is that it makes you hungry. Sorry can't remember the name of it.

In the interests of balance, I thought it was a mediocre snoozefest!

KK plays KK. Again.

Watched this last night - after all the recommendations here and from my 15 yr old daughter who enjoyed it.

What a lovely film! Not original or breathtaking, but well done, with good songs - listening to soundtrack on YouTube now Smile

Ruffalo and Catherine Keener are great (would have liked her character to have had more to do). It was nice to see KK in a different role than her usual. Yes, she's a bit the same in all her films but this was good

Definitely worth a watch.

This sounds good, I've just put it on as DH is at the cinema :)

I loved that movie in the cinema! And the song from the movie is all over Radio 2 at the moment, as the guy who won the Voice has covered it.

And YYY to Mark Ruffalo

Thanks for the recommendation, BOF - such a lovely film, Mark Ruffalo was superb, and yes... I admit to liking KK as well.

Lovely film. But it's lovely despite KK, I'm afraid.

She was certainly less irritating than in other films. And in it's favour was certainly the heavenly Mark Ruffalo who did his best to look like an overweight unkempt has-been - although all that did was increase his hotness.

I still would have preferred the part of KK to have gone to someone less obviously gorgeous. For example, I loved the girl in 'Once' who was 'ordinary' looking but wonderful. THey should have just had her in 'Begin Again' and I'd have been happy.

Love KK, so must watch this.

And my DD is the spit of her and has been asked zillions of times for her autograph Smile I do tell her to pretend she is and get upgraded to first class or whatever, but she's too honest!

bitoffun and others, thank you so much. DH is away tonight so DD (12) and I had Nandos and I persuaded her to watch this film. She was considering Dumb and Dumber to amongst others. It was really good, we both enjoyed it
