Ok - i know opinion was pretty split over the books, but honestly, who would actually go see this movie? If they follow the books it'll be like porn, and watching that with 200 strangers in a cinema? And if they don't follow the books and make it a romance/thriller then its going to be pretty pants...
Charlie Hunman as Mr Grey.... well hellooooooooooo there....

Fifty shades of tedious, after the first few chapters of the first one, it was just a yawnfest.

Sounds pretty grim to me - watching porn with a bunch of strangers in a cinema? If it's released as an 18 you're not actually allowed to show penetrative sex either anyway, so what will it be? I haven't read the book myself but I'm lead to believe it's 90% sex scenes which go on for several pages. Will it just be euphemistic birds exploding out of trees, champagne, convenient sudden scene cuts etc?

Actually that sounds quite funny Grin

Nope it'll be a cringe-fest from start to finish.

Recall the film of Riders? This'll be even worse.

Yoni there will be lots of explosions. Exploding car, buildings, rockets, abandoned luggage because the only description ever used was that she "exploded".

I can't see that there's enough substance to the books, to make a film out of.
Will it combine all 3 books?

Nae chance. CBA to read the books, certainly not going to waste hours of my life watching the film(s).

I read the books and liked them, but...would no way go and watch a film.

The point of books it that you use your imagination and I can't see this film being anything other than a cheap looking seedy porn film...and will ruin the books for me.

Shock

A no here too. I tried to read the first book and gave up - it got very repetitive!

Surely it will have to be too pornographic to sit and watch with strangers in a cinema. I dread to think what some people will be doing in the dark while its on! I really do not want to be seeing hand movements beside me and be left trapped next to some random stranger getting off on public porn.

yes. I have absolutely no interest in the books but with Charlie hunnam playing the lead you bet your ass I'll be watching that on the big screen!Wink Wink

I cant see it will work, they'll be a lot of shower scenes, and drying her hair. I can't remember much of a story.

Oh I probably will and will laugh like a drain from start to finish.

The books (well tbf I read half of the first one, so the rest could be literary genius) were a total and utter shitefest, gawd only knows how unbelievably appalling the film will be, I can't wait Grin

No, thought the movie was awful. Wonder if Christian will be as abusive, controlling & manipulative as the book.

...... DVD was created possibly for this very scenario.

I doubt I'd pay to watch it in a cinema. When it's shown on TV in a couple of years I'll probably watch it then.

not at the pictures. no. but if it's on tv at some point why not.

hopefully it will be better than the book.

Dear god no. I read all three despite their appallingness, for some reason I just had to find out how much more crap her writing would get, but I'm not paying any more money for that over the top nonsense. I'm ashamed enough to have downloaded them to my Kindle.

The ONLY reason for going would have been to see Charlie in action, i have no interest in the books, just him Grin

Cannot believe all the heat and light generated by his original casting which seemed to cause outrage...have people actually seen him? He has done himself a favour by getting out of it, it really will be crap now!
