Thanks for that. Was just pondering whether to persuade ds (7) to come and see it with me and whether to fork out for 3D.
Think we may do something else tomorrow Smile

The boys want to see this, but I think I'll send them on their own to this one. Thanks for the review.

would it be suitable for a 4 1/2 year old?

DH thinks ds would like it, i'm not sure if it is too advanced for him.

Yeah it kind of washed over me and I fell asleep. It should have been good on paper but it fell a bit flat. DS (5) enjoyed it well enough and liked the minions.

I did love the baddie's modernist abode though.

We weren't that impressed either. It was ok, but...

DS and DH enjoyed it ok, but nothing major. Bit slow at the beginning but was ok later.

There was a random reference to Lehman bros in the middle, and I thought, oooh there could be more satire, but then there wasn't.. which left me a bit disappointed.

Think too slow for 4 yo. Loved the Lehman and the ref to " the lothario principle" . music dire

It was okay and thats about the best that can be said....but loved the 'dog' and the way he blows away the rifle stall at the fair (haven't you so wanted to do that...)

We went today. Two adults and 5 girls ages 6-8 and we all thought it was an excellent film. There were a lot of laughs and I would recommend it to all.

Not sure why the reviews were not that good but we were told by a friend to go and watch it and we all had a great time.

God, I absolutely loved it! Feel like I went to see a totally different film.

Me, dh, 9 y/o girl and 7 y/o boy laughed all the way through.

I really couldn't recommend it highly enough.

The sets, the characters, the devices, the science, were all amazing, highly imaginative.

DS went to see it and liked it, although I get the impression that he didn't love it the way he loved (for eg) Kung Fu Panda.

I asked him what it was about and he said "There were some children and they didn't like a man, but the man was kind to them and then they liked him". I asked him if anything else happened and he said "No", so I think the plot may have needed a bit of padding there. Grin

Saw it this morning. I was expecting it to be disappointing but it was bloody brilliant and laugh out loud in so many places. Very funny and quite touching in places without being schmaltzy.

Took twins and a friend, all aged 6 to see it and they loved it. So did I - it was really really funny and I cried at the soppy ending.

I think Gru and Agnes are wonderful characters and I have to admit, we loved it so much we went to see it a second time, just over a week later - I have never ever seen a film twice at the cinema before. Can't recommend it highly enough.

we went to see this last week. me DS age 3 and DD age 7. We all loved it, plenty to keep kids entertained, lots of laughs all round. DS really got into the end bit (won't give anything away here) and was shouting at the screen!!

It's SO Fluffy - made us laugh!

Took dd 7yrs and ds 5 yrs to see it with my mum, we all really enjoyed it, ds was howling with laughter at the end.

It's interesting how mixed these reviews are.
