I started reading "Delusions of Gender" last night and it is very interesting. I am shocked at some of the examples of neuro-sexism and scientific "fraud" that it exposes and de-bunks.

I recommend it and think it would be a good book choice for November.

It isn't all there,Lenin - though an awful lot of it is,more than in any other search inside the book feature I've looked at! (Probably enough to talk reasonably intelligently about it if you didn't really want to read the whole thing...grin)

jamaisjedors Fri 29-Oct-10 13:38:26

Looks good. I will try to order it if the postage isn't too high for France.

BlairWaldorfsHairband Fri 29-Oct-10 14:01:57

Just ordered it and Pornland and Wifework too - it's pay day today and still 2 months til Christmas! grin

jamaisjedors Fri 29-Oct-10 16:57:06

Grrr. Amazon increased the price from 8.54 to £9.00 for the EU AND added 6.00 delivery.

It works out as 17€...

I will look elsewhere.

Had a look at the book on Amazon and it seems to cover a lot of the same ground as Pink Brain Blue Brain - eg I noticed some research projects that were discussed about mothers talking more to baby girls than boys and understimating a slope that a baby girl could crawl up.

So I am going to finish reading PBBB and reas as much as possible of Delusions of Gender on line and hope that I can still join in with the discussion.

sethstarkaddersmummyreturns Fri 29-Oct-10 19:58:29

it will be great having someone who's read PBBB in the discussion Tabouleh - do come along even if you don't actually get onto Delusions of Gender.

thecatpeoplespjs Sat 30-Oct-10 20:40:26

Great idea. Been wanting to read this. Going to Amazon to order it now. I've missed the last two book clubs so hopefully will manage to make this one.

I've ordered the book and looking forward to discussion too. Feel like my brain hasn't been exercised much recently
