Hi

Can anyone give me any advice about this? What should I look for and how would i know they are any good? I don't want to ask people I know in real life but I don't want to just pick one from the yellow pages. I'd be grateful for any advice. thanks

I went on the web site for those registered with the 'institute for psychotherapists' think that's what it was called, so that you know they have decent trainig. It's a bit hit and miss I suppose but I managed to find a good one first time

I can tell you about because MIL is well respected big-wig in this field. Go to www.bacp.co.uk/this webite and it should lead you to registered counsellors in your area.

It's abit of a mine field as anyone can call themselves a counsellor although proper registration is currently being discussed.

I wouldn't advise you to see anyone who is not BACP registered.

The other alternative is ask your GP, they may have someone in house.

Good luck X
