He went to doc after we had a blazing row which involved him getting totally OTT and verbally aggressive (which we both recognise he has a tendency to do anyway) but he felt shaken afterwards and so did I. He's been feeling down for a while and has had depressive episodes before now. And we have a fair bit of stress going on in our lives, just the usual money/work/another baby on the way sort of stuff, plus we live far from his family which is hard on him.

Doc has referred him for something which he can't remember the name of - not anger management but similar. And given him fluoxetine in the meantime because "referral can take ages" (GP's words apparently).

Has anyone any experience of this?

I've just logged on meaning to ask about this drug! I've just started taking this - now on day 2- and it's making me feel very wierd, but I am going to persevere with it - after finally plucking up the courage and the energy to admit I am not coping well I am determined to get back on top of life.

Anyone else using it ? Have you found it beneficial ?

it is prozac. If you google it you may well access a chat forum about it. They are really useful.

Thanks for your help. I can find a paper online about how explosive rage in Vietnam veterans got better with it. I was just a bit unsure about its use in anger rather than straight depression. Although I guess anger is just a manifestation of depression for some people.
